Students/Visitors

Educating researchers is one of the primary objectives of the Audio Analysis Lab, and the lab runs research project on which Ph.D. students work under the supervision of senior members. To become a Ph.D. student in Denmark, you must hold a master’s degree in the field of study. There are basically two ways to become a Ph.D. student in Denmark:

  • The first and most common one is to apply for a position as Ph.D. student when one is available. Such scholarships are most often funded by external grants from the government or the European Union. This way, you become an employee of the university and receive a salary and benefits. This happens via the university’s homepage at http://www.vacancies.aau.dk/.
  • The second way is to be self- (or externally) funded. If you are fortunate enough to be able to fund your Ph.D. studies yourself  or via a sponsor (company, private, governmental, etc.) you can apply for enrollment as a Ph.D. student at Aalborg University. We are happy to supervise such self-funded students in our area and can assist in the application process. You can read more about all this on the homepage of the Technical Doctoral School of IT and Design at http://www.phd.tech.aau.dk/.

Lastly, we also host visiting researchers, including Ph.D. students, postdocs, and guest professors, for short or extended periods of time. We do, however, not offer internships for bachelor students.
